Infrastructure to Support Business Growth in Clinton County, NY

The CCIDA, its partner and the State of New York are actively investing in the infrastructure necessary to support business and residential expansion. This includes the state investing $3.4 billion in water infrastructure, $52.6 million in broadband infrastructure, and the state building an advanced nuclear plant and utility-scale wind farm to generate more power for the future.

Clinton County leaders work with the state to promote infrastructure investments. “Shovel Ready New York is a bill that I had sponsored a couple of years ago. The state has invested millions of dollars to put infrastructure in place for companies looking to relocate,” said VP for Strategic Planning and Workforce Initiatives at CCC and former Assemblyman Billy Jones. The 450-acre Clinton County Industrial Park (C-BIG) has benefited from this program - it is fully shovel-ready with broadband, water, sewer, and power infrastructure in place.

Locally, Clinton County has also been investing in infrastructure. “The town of Plattsburgh has invested $24 million in our water and wastewater,” said Michael Cashman, current Plattsburgh Assemblyman and former Supervisor. They have been able to make the investments while maintaining low water rates—the Plattsburgh region has the lowest water rates in the Northeast.

We Make Infrastructure Investments for Specific Businesses

CCIDA and its partners make substantial infrastructure investments to support the growth of major employers. For example, a power substation is being upgraded to support Schluter’s expansion in the County while also providing additional capacity for other future projects.
